    This is a really deep poem I myself was surprised how good this was since you was 16 you have a talent and have had for a long time

    Really deep and strong

  • This is a very deep, and very heartbreaking piece.

    Those who commit suicide, I sometimes think are selfish. They think about their own pain before they think of what they will cause others. It's a horrible thing all round. Your friend must have been pretty depressed to have killed herself though. :(

    Your emotions in this piece range from deep sorrow to pure anger and it was quite a piece to read. Probably one of the most emotional I have read, and I have read plenty of those. (Just one of your's recently).

    Sorry you felt this way, hopefully you have forgiven your friend over time. It seems to me that you have chosen to feel anger towards your friend instead of sorrow, because it's easier to deal with that way. It truly is. But that anger won't last forever, and that sorrow will return... accepting it now and dealing with those emotions are the only way for you to get over your friend's death.. and even then, it will shape you as a person.

    My only critique;
    Punctuation... capitalisation is needed throughou the piece, and perhaps, I believe, a view commas/fullstops were out of place. I suppose that you were too emotional at the time to care. It's not that big a deal, just thought to point it out.

    Well penned. 5/5

    This is a very strong goodbye poem. Its always hard to lose a loved one and in the end you have to think about losing them. it is a really interesting the way you said goodbye though. i think it is selfish to commit suicide as well but people want to end there pain. No one really knows why they die though because no one has to die at all. You did great to show the emotion anyone would feel finding that note though. You can tell when you read this that this person seemed to be ok and maybe this was unexpected. I also love how you put parts of her letter in here is really enhances this poem you wrote. You always miss the person and I also like the quiz part. You never know why they did it and you always have to ask yourself over and over. Time heals all but it is hard to overcome. The ending lines are so strong. You are glad she is dead but I hope it means you are glad she is living with no more pain. In the middle of the poen I liked how you say depression and cutting takes over your life. It is a natural reaction to death. You can never blame yourself. You are brave to write about this. 5/5

    Most poems don't make me tear up, but this one did. The emotions alone are wow... With suicide, we always ask ourselves why. Why did it happen to someone so close to us. I don't we ever know someone's inner pain. The rhyming here is unbelievable to me, with such a long poem the flow is impeccable. To me this has a straight forward message. But there is something deeper. I cannot pinpoint what though. Okay the title I like because there is honesty to it. It's a reply so you have to be honest with it. People act fine until the very end a lot of the times. So I understand where the anger comes from. The emotions here are varied to me. There is anger, hurt, betrayal, sadness and to me I don't think you could have written the poem with all of them. For being an older poem, I would say it's one of your best, for the raw emotions alone. Great work.

    The poem is a superb mixture of emotions of 'wanting' and 'not wanting' to love your best friend, and when you mention that she committed suicide at 13, I not only feel sadness and revulsion at the reasons for her suicide but also sorrow at such a young life full of potential lost!

    ... and maybe you do feel that she is the bravest angel that you know, but remember, you are the survivor; you are the bravest angel!

    What can I really say to this, Saffie? Heart breaking, brilliant piece. I hope I'm not dredging up the past by commenting and a belated sorry for your loss, but a thoroughly effective poem.

  • This had me crying the whole way through. I'm sorry for your loss.

    Raw and full of anger and heartbreak this poem hits hard with its honesty. It is so obviously written from the heart and as such has a huge emotional impact. It cant have been an easy time for you and it is not suprising that must have been so difficult to revisit but having done so all I can do is hope that it has helped you towards coming to terms with her loss.
