Not just my love.. but my friend

You were my love, my life, and my heart
until we had to part
and go our separate way
that lonely and horrible day

i think about it now and then
and about how we shouldn't have had an end
to the love we shared
and the fact that we each truly cared

so i admit that its true, i still love you
and i want our separation to be through
so i can have my heart
put back together, part to part
and i hope we can make it til the end
