The Truth

He said," Do you want to know the truth?"
When we sat down near that old booth.
The air was so chillingly,
and I was so willingly.

I gave up everything for this,
and yet I'm still a Miss.
He will tell you i broke HIS heart,
However, it was his friends that drove us apart.

And as time clicks on by,
I question myself with, "Why?"
I turn to my friends for a reason.
But i shouldn't just do it for my pleasing.

They say that I'm off the rails,
I'm as shameless as those careless males.
I just second guess them with,
"Ain't you ever heard of this?"

The real reason I am alone,
I was too careless to have known,
He tried to show me something important,
Which was that i shouldn't flaunt it.

If only I listened to the clues,
