Painless

by Aki   Mar 22, 2007

I was told it was painless.
Here I stand though,
Looking at myself
In disgust.
My mother is beside me,
She's crying a river...
"Please mom don't"
I try to tell her
Over and over.
I hear the words,
But she doesn't,
Her tears go on.
I can't say anything,
My words won't reach her.
The tears keep going.
I reach forward
To stop my mother tears.
I can't though,
There's nothing I can do now.
Here's my father,
And there I go...
For me it wasn't,
It was painless.
But my family,
The ones left behind
It was very painful.
It wasn't painless...
Never is...
