Where were you when I needed you the most?
You were never there.
You were like a ghost.

I reached out to you.
You said you didn't want to be my mother.
Said go find another.

You were always stoned.
I was disowned.

I tried hard to be somebody in your eyes.
but you pushed me away and said goodbye.

I watched while you left.
Wondering if you'd come home drunk again.
Wondering if I'd feel any pain.
Not knowing what you'd say.

I would sit there and pray.
Pray for a better day.
A day when all the dark clouds would disappear and the sun would come out and play.

A day when you would act like you care.
And wipe away my every tear.

A day when you would say you love me.
A day when I could be free.

A day when you would tell me not to worry.
A day when you wouldn't push me away in a hurry.

A day when you gave me a hug.
A day when you told me everything would be alright.

A day when I'm not living in fear.
