A rare friendship

Slowly we formed a beautiful friendship, one that I thought was going to last. It was friendship that was built on love and trust. Something that is so rare in this cold dark world. I was alone and shaking from the evil which surrounded me but you came and gave me light to chase away my haunting shadows. I poured the contents of my heart and soul out to you. Letting you see my emotions and thoughts completely bare. I knew you would take it all from me, not wanting me to hurt any longer. So I gave you all my hearts anguish, my eyes blinded of the weight my presence caused you. I should have realized before you were in to deep. Before your affection grew too strong. Before my pain would forever scar your very core. After time my weakness became your fall. I was too weak to catch you, my voice to exhausted to scream. Now my guilt washes over me every time I see your face. Just as it had begun, slowly we faded away from each other. Memories, the only thing left of the friendship we once shared.
