In His Arms

by I Seem to be the Heartless   Mar 23, 2007

I was standing at the window,
Staring out into the distance
Thinking about him,
Wanting him...
He turned me around to face him
And hugged me.
He held me so tight,
So lovingly.
Then he led me to the bed
And laid me down.
He stared into my eyes,
Into my soul.
All this was followed
By him making love to me,
Tenderly,
Passionately.
"Is this real?"
I wondered,
Closing my eyes
Hoping,
Praying...

When I opened my eyes
I was alone -
No one there.
No one at all.
Disappointed
I turned around,
And he kissed me,
Held me.

There he was!
I was lying next to him,
In his bed,
In his arms.
I smiled gently
And cuddled up close.
We were together.
We were one.
I held him real tight
Not planning on letting go.

He took away my loneliness.
He took away my pain...
We fell asleep
In each other's arms.
We were together then.
Together forever...
