The Shepherds Poem

by Jay   Mar 23, 2007

We were in the meadow,
Our sheep and us.
An angel came from nowhere,
And said to not cause a fuss.

"Do not be afraid."
"Good tidings I bring."
"For a child is born."
"In whom, great things will you sing."

"Go to Bethlehem,
Go this very minute."
"There is a cloth in a manger,
Look inside, and a baby will be in it."

A whole mess of angels and they sang,
"Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace,
Good will towards men."

We went to the town,
Due with haste,
And when we saw this child,
No praise did we waste.

Everywhere we went,
We had to rejoice.
And we worshipped Him,
All of which, by choice.
