The Rain

The rain falls
across my face
jumping from here to there
as time goes by
I sit staring at the rain

The soothing calm
of the falling rain
coming down in spirals
people come into my life
just like the falling rain

And just like the rain
they fall down my life
like a tear falling down my cheek
but then they are gone
just like the falling rain
