Today Freedom Cried

by Gregory W Golden   Mar 25, 2007

Starlight ripples your smile
eclipse the sun
millions of miles away

As night fades into day,
copper aspens quake
glowing bright green and gold,
dazzle beneath the rays
caress your sacred soul,
pour into a field
of fresh cut flowers,
sweet with dew, then
cascade on a moonlight shadow,
So, I kiss the sky for you

Joy fell in love and
kissed the man in the moon
dear Lord, let me hear it
Today, freedom cried and the
church bells rang and
the voices ignited the stars, but
the world stood still,
unable to hear
the unbroken cry of freedom
