He [She] Should've Known

by Kirsten   Mar 26, 2007

He sat by the window
thinking of something
but definitely not nothing
he smiled to himself
he wasn't afraid to live, and wasn't afraid to die, cause
he thought his love and how it was great
but to his eyes and to his mind
he did not know this love was unfaithful

at first he found clues
but didn't think it real
just kept going along
not using his sense
till one day he enters
that room he knew well
to find two strange people
lost in each other

that was enough he said
that was all he needed
he said he should've known, cause
he wore his heart on his hand cause his sleeve was too short

months went by
and he moved on
another "true love" had come his way
things we're great
they held hands
made love too many times
did all the things
that romantic movies show

but clues had reappeared
this time he was wrong
his accusation was dead off
it was just a coincidence
he got angrier by the minute
every minute representing time spent
with the one he thought was the one

that was enough he said
that was all he needed
he said he should've know, cause
he wore his heart on his hand cause his sleeve was too short

he went to the bar
drank his problems away
him mom came to mind
and said son, this ain't right
don't do this to yourself
but he pushed her aside
and drowned in his thoughts

that was enough he said
that was all he needed
he said he should've know, cause
he wore his heart on his hand cause his sleeve was too short

head on the table, still drinking away
he heard clicking of heels that made his head throb
the heels stopped by him and said he was cute
that he seemed to have problems
that she could help him for awhile
he looked up at the girl who he nicknamed easy
said why not? he's got nothing to lose
he said lets go to my car, back to my place

they arrived at the scene
with lust in the air
their clothes on the floor
their bodies on the bed
but while pleasing Mrs.Easy
he thought of one person
his new love who he had accused of wrong doings
but he pushed those thoughts away
though two wrongs don't make a right
he was just getting even
but there was nothing to get even to

his love had arrived at the scene
sensing lust in the air
she found the clothes on the floor
their bodies in bed
she said nothing and turned away
but Easy got out of bed and left him with her
she yelled and she screamed
she cried and tried to understand
but she only had one question
why?

he replied you started it first
what goes around comes around
she said oh i get it
this is about trust
well too bad, cause you have no one to trust no more
and with that she left him with his thoughts
his mom came again, and said son you done wrong
you can't fix now, just think about it

his love had left crying
trying to think
how things got so bad
but she should've know
the guy wore his heart on his hand, cause his sleeve was too short
they spent so much time together but
she didn't realize
that this boy was broken
he was broken inside
all she needed to do
was take his heart off his hand
and says its alright
your heart is with mine
we'll be together for the end of time

but she didn't
and he was alone again
he should've known
but so should she
