Inside A Heart

by Jessica   Mar 26, 2007

Can you look into my heart?
Please tell me I won't fall apart.
I need some strength, a little love,
I need a gift from God above.
Secrets keep me torn up inside,
It's like emotional suicide.
But I promised to stay strong for him,
To hold my head high for all of them.

Keep the secrets buried deep,
Keep the emotional mountain steep.
Never take a second glance,
Enjoy the moment and not the dance.
Hurry, go, before it's too late,
Believe in yourself, not in fate.
Words so horrid, words I was told,
I thought he had a heart of gold.
"I love you," was what he said,
"But sometimes I wish you were dead."

I act so tough, I act so strong,
But it hurts to keep holding on.
I try so hard to stand up straight,
Act like everything is great.
But sometimes you just need to cry,
Before your life becomes a lie.

When someone close breaks your heart,
When someone tears you apart,
Understand you mean so much more,
For life's a gift and not a chore.
