Requiem [Song of Dark Seduction]

by Twisted Heart   Mar 26, 2007

He captures me with haunted eyes
As the music fills the room
In step with him, I start to glide
A welcome to the darkened moon.

No stars have come to bid me well
A haze has caught the gray of night
Inside his hold I feel the swell
Of distant calls that give me sight.

Another sound from him I hear
So close it sends to me a shiver
A taunting moan, it is so clear
A sweet seduction to me delivered.

I lose myself within his arms
No one to save me from his grasp
The music claims my ears in song
Bending toward my neck he laughs.

He pierces me with sweet ecstasy
And sips the taste of crimson wine
A destined fate or fantasy
Or maybe both, as one combined.

The music plays inside my mind
As I sink down to the ground
Now distant is the hands of time
As so the shattering of sound.

A gentle pain, now comes to me
Upon the mark that took my breath
No longer welcome fantasies
But chambered thought that come with death.

I absolutely love vampire poetry. There is something so romantic and yet taboo about it. This a beautiful description of the dance. This is by far my favorite. I probaly say that about every one of your poems but I this one beats them all. IMO your best. I would be willing to be you could co-write a vampiric tale with Anne Rice. It would be a best seller. Love love love it.

I agree with Hellon. I've heard that saying too and your poem complimented it perfectly.
The imagery was breath-taking. I honestly felt like i was there in the moonlight listening to the haunting music..
