Climbing Beauty

by Megan Sue   Mar 27, 2007

An inner reflection of Beauty
gazed down upon us all
I could see such wondrous things
from a giants shoulder so tall

Climbing up all these branches
hands as sticky as the tree
But I could see him smiling
his warmth spread onto me

And as he stood motionless, in a daze
the wind sweeped through his hair
I climbed down off his branches
as if nothing could compare

He gently stroked my cheek,
as if to say goodbye
gazing down into my soul
I could hear a silent cry

But as he faded into nothing
I looked down on his grace
his eyes turned steely grey
as a smile spread across his face

And as I turned to walk away
tears formed in my eyes
but he wasn't there to comfort me
I could see only open skies

Now walking down the path
tears from my eyes fled away
one big step, one big sigh
then his branch shook as if to say

One Final Sad Goodbye
