A Mythic Dream

by Aage Crow   Mar 27, 2007

A sleek gray cloud of darkness hovers above me in the sky blocking out the bright white light called the sun. I walk in a field of grass and wild flowers as it starts to rain and thunder. A scared little girl is hiding in a patch of roses. I run to her feeling the need to help her out but when she sees me the vines of the roses start to grow. They wrap around me as I reach out to her, their thorns cutting every inch of my skin that it can. She stares me in the eyes and I'm horrified to find the little girl is my past self. I struggle now against the vines of death. The rain mixing with my blood as I unleash my fury on the roses. The vines wrap themselves tighter and I can't breath any more. I can't move and I don't want to as it hurts to do so. I hang there, pinned by vines to the Yggdrasil, the world tree, next to Odin and he says to me, "Young one of Earth, you have yet to see the end of your days. Someone will come for you."
I listen to him as he speaks of this savior and I wait day in and day out for the savior Odin spoke of....
