She starts off hardly knowing him, he's just a kid at school,
Next thing she's in love with him! She's such a crazy fool!
The best of friends they soon become, so close and hard to part,
But suddenly her feelings change, he's messing with her heart!
She's not so sure if any more she loves him like she thinks,
The change inside, she cannot hide the fact that her heart sinks!
She's shocked and stunned, she never thought her feelings would just fade,
She wonders what just might have happened had her feelings stayed!
That's not to say she felt as though a chance there may have been,
She knows now that what was to be will never now be seen!
But just because she's losing love, she hasn't lost her friend,
She wants to stay best friends with him, best friends til the end!
She knows they just weren't meant to be and so it's a relief,
She can move on and proudly say, "I'm turning a new leaf!"
But even though she's moving on and starting to let go,
She'll not forget her feelings but she'll never let them show!
