As the Sun Sets

by Daisy if you do   Mar 27, 2007

As the Sun Sets

Hues of orange drip into the landscape
Flamboyant yellow takes no rest
Ceasing never to amaze me with brilliance

Easterly sands fade in shadows of dusk
Variants of beige and brown dance
Clinging to the toes of my lover

Remnants of light grasp the shore
With no return persuasion they retreat
Succumbing to the eve that lay in store

Crimson stained clouds float lazily above
Peaceful slumber until morn
Drifting until awakened in another dream

Temporarily suspended sun traded for
Lethargic shades of grey filtering moonlight
Gracefully displaying your silhouette

This is heavenly, such delightful and evocative imagery. It's almost like the colors are falling from your brush. A pleasure to read.
