Perfect Hell

by BehindThisSmilex   Mar 28, 2007

City lights
painted up against
a black and white sky
the moon shining through
looking like a photograph
or a masterpiece
created upon a canvas
buzzing of cars
growing louder
as i walk through the night
making this place
look magical
the sounds of people
making music in the streets...
But inside each window
is a child being beat
a women drowning
a teenager slitting her wrists
a man drinking way too much
a baby crying
a dog barking
someone dying
this is what we call
a perfect hell

This is something i've often thought about. it's so sad but so true. i love the short sentances it really helped create the 'atmosphere'. and i love the way you summed up the poem in the line 'this is what we call a perfect hell' so so true. well done
