The Collection

by Taylor Porton   Apr 10, 2004

I watch in silence as
He tells his new obsession how much he loves her and
How truly wonderful she is

I ignore these words of flattery
As I've heard each one
At least five times before

But she doesn't mind
And glorifies in ear word of praise he has for her
Still singing an each piercing song
When he runs his fingers down her neck

They see me,
But don't care
And continue making music
That monotonously rings in my ears

I sometimes find myself envious
Of this passionate love he has
For all of his beautiful guitars
