To Write is to Heal

by ShootingStar179   Mar 28, 2007

To fail is to leap,
Leap across a mountain peak,
Peak with every friend you have made,
Made to be taken,
Taken is my happiness,
Happiness you always restored,
Restored is my sadness,
Sadness of which has no cure

To smile is to fear,
Fear every sidewards glance,
Glance into your sweet eyes,
Eyes that hold secrets,
Secrets kill the smiles,
Smiles created just for you,
You took my compassion away,
Away from you I will stay true

To laugh is to torture,
Torture one you called friend,
Friend in whom you held so dear,
Dear sweet friend you make me fear,
Fear all the glances that are in my path,
Path of ridicule and betrayal,
Betrayal of unintentional fools,
Fools who take lust over love,
Love is smothered like a candle,
Candle in the wind.

Wow. It was interesting. I've never read a poem in that type of pattern, but I must say I did love how you connected all of the ideas together and never went off track once. I look forward to erading your other ones (:

^^ I really loved the imagery those lines created as well as just the descriptions, they really got me. (:
