Next To You

The sand so fine
The water so rough
oh how i wish
to be by that stuff

i want you to be
right there next to me
so when i shall go
you shall be next to me

we will be
together forever
as long as the sand
doesn't happen to weather

and when it gets rough
i know i have you
to get me through
whatever is tough

you'll be by my side
and ill be by yours
through rain and shine
and long winters too

if we ever leave
each other at all
i shall go home
and cry all night long

we all have ups
we all have downs
we however
are up rather than down

when I'm alone
all i want
is you
right next to me

This is the first poem I've ever written so I hope it isn't to bad

    It is really good. The idea and principal is really good. I suggest working a little longer on your writes, revising and replacing words, and working on punctuation (captitals!). Also, try not to rhyme a word with itself :

    "i want you to be
    right there next to me
    so when i shall go
    you shall be next to me"
