I remember

by Spiker 03   Mar 30, 2007

This poem is dedicated to my Grandmother, Carol Ann Herndon.

I'll never forget the day when we last said goodbye,
Nothing on this earth could hold back my tears so I began to cry.
I remember when you would braid my hair,
Though you was sick, nothing stopped your care.

We were much alike, your a big part of me,
There's so much I'be accomplished I wish you could see.
I remember if I ever was hurt, you would just take me in your arms,
You said it was my shelter from all the harm.

I remember your laugh and smile,
I wish you could have stayed more of a while.
I always wonder if I've made you proud,
I know your watching me above the clouds.

There you were, lying there, it was the last time I saw you,
It was a nightmare that came true.
I know I'll see you again one day,
And trust me, we'll have a lot to say.

You will always be in my heart,
Even though we are apart.
We will again see each other,
Then our family will forever be together.
