Let The Night Lead Us

by Twisted Heart   Mar 30, 2007

Let the night lead us
From the shadows of our pain
As we search the moon and stars
Heart's questions still remain.

A soul that seeks forgiveness
Now lends an eager ear
To hear just what the night will say
To douse away the fears.

Upon the sweet surrender
Of a thought that crossed the mind
Lifted gentle spirits that
Were crushed and left behind.

Now holds the key of longing
That the moon and stars have found
Within their umbered loneliness
No whisper makes a sound.

But a rocking of the knowledge
Like a children's lullaby
Will come and offer comfort
And wipe the tears that's cried.

So let the night surround us
And let it lead the way
Into the bright tomorrows
With no clouds of yesterday.

    I loved the poem.
    Especially the last stanza.
It reminded me of a song for some reason.

    Great job; flawless.
