Believe it or Not

by Verity Han   Mar 30, 2007

Believe can't be spelled
Unless you have a word called "lie".

Believing doesn't work,
Believing is just fake,
Believing is a child's toy.

Your true love will dump you,
Your pet will die,
You cannot help it but cry.

You'll fall and break your bones,
You'll lapse into a coma,
You'll likely wither like a flower.

But...

Believe can't be spelled
Unless you have a word called "be".

Believing does work,
Believing is real,
Believing is how the world appeals!

Your true love will propose to you,
Your pet will soothe you,
You cannot help it but celebrate.

You can jump and run,
You can slip and slide,
You can whoop for joy!

The day is done,
The sun is gone,
It's time to go home.

The oranges and purples,
Get thrown into the sky,
And the day just passes by.
