My fortune

by Coeur Cassa Sage   Apr 1, 2007

I broke the cookie
Two halves in my hand
Pulled them apart
Like two grains of sand
In the middle was a paper
A small thin strip
Ate the first half that was shaped like a taper
Then came the second
I chewed slowly
While my heart beckoned
To see my fortune
I picked it up
My mind screaming like this was no misfortune
And read those words that I hold dear
That play in my mind
Which I love to hear
I smiled and looked at you
When you didn't have a clue
That those words were meant toward
Me and you
It makes me think
Of what our future holds
Whole in front of my eyes
My love for you unfolds
What were the words which chime
In my head
A loved one of utmost importance at this time
