My Rider in Black

by Crystal Gaze   Apr 1, 2007

You said you loved me, apparently you lied.
I was your everything.
Then why did I cry?

I smiled through it all.
I fought for the truth.
Believing it was in you,
because I thought you where true.

Never the less when I found the truth
it wasn't in you, but in the moon.
You where confused, when you began to cheat.
Thinking you had beat, what was left of me.
But there was a strength unwilling to give into this lonely defeat.

Ah but my moon does not hang in the sky,
but ever does he walk by my side.
And you know what he never lies,
but love's me like a real kinda guy.

He's my rider in black.
Holding me together, so you'll never come back.
He banishes the hurt,
so my heart doesn't sever.
As he loves me forever,
I give him my heart,
by banishing all that is dark.
