I did not cherish the moments,
They wandered slowly by,
I only felt the heartache,
I'll never understand why.

Every day you were with me,
Although you seemed so far,
You shone so bright and clear,
In each and every star.

Every time I closed my eyes,
I'd see your face appear,
But knowing I couldn't touch you,
It only brought a tear.

Each night I'd hug the soft sheets,
Pretending they were you,
They never once hugged me back,
They way you used to do.

My heart was being pulled apart,
The pain was so immense,
Each day grew harder and harder,
And made less and less sense.

I thought that by leaving,
All my problems would end,
