The Yearning

by marcus   Apr 2, 2007

You tell me you love me deeply,
I want to believe it's true.
So why do you continually act,
As if there's no me and you.

I long for you to kiss me,
Or for a tender, caressing touch,
Why can't you look deep in my eyes.
And realise it hurts me so much.

I want to be held close to you,
In a way only lovers can be,
To feel your breath upon my neck,
And realise you really do love me.

I'm often left here feeling,
That your love to me is denied,
Your heart is too cold for any spark,
I can only conclude it has died.

I merely want to feel as one,
I would give you my whole life,
If you would only let me be,
And love me as your wife.
