My Only True Friend

by ShootingStar179   Apr 2, 2007

Sitting in the corner,
Holding back tears of gold,
They have become so prized from the years,
Of heartbreak from friends so cold

How much longer do I have to hurt?
Only to make sure you are okay,
This body is breaking down slowly,
My masquerade ends today

Now, dear, do not be puzzled,
For this love in my heart will not fail,
Love overcomes all obstacles,
By trials, this is what it entails.

Tears do not fall in silence for attention,
Even if they did, who would care?
Break this heart; it is easy to do,
Pick up the pieces if you dare

My dear small notebook,
You are my only true friend,
Keep the tears from cascading,
Down all these wounds you do mend.

I usually try to stay away from reading friendship poems, I don't know maybe something to do with the past memories or because they're all so cliched...but this one really did something for me, I don't know what but I loved it. Keep it up.

    5/5 (:
