Girl in the Mirror

by the girl in blue   Apr 2, 2007

I see you every morning
in my mirror on the wall,
You look so strange standing there,
not very tall at all,
You go to school hoping for a new day,
But soon you don't know what to do,
so you start to pray,
people point and laugh as they pass by,
But you keep your cool and hold your head high,
How do you do the things you do,
Do you just go with what they say about you,
I wish I could be exactly like the girl I see,
The one in my mirror,
the one so different and faithful,
But all I see is a girl so common and greatful,
To have made is another day,
even though I've lost my way,
Even though others can not see,
I know I'm not acting like all I can be,
People gossip and judge,
But you, you don't hold a grudge,
you forgive and forget,
Not throw a huge fit,
Why can't others see,
this isn't the real me,
The real me is you,
the one who's sitting on the pew
every Sunday,
listening and taking notes,
Not out with friends buying totes,
So I wasn't to see you everyday,
looking back at me in that special way,
The way that tells me to be strong,
And not listen to everyones songs,
i just want to be the girl in the mirror that I see,
I just want to be me.
