SLUGGISH SELF

by desleeds   Apr 3, 2007

The morning light greets the day
Shines on my face with a smile
My eyes blared with pain of glow
Brows knit with sight of mere a slit

I rise and sit with stare at wall
Still feel the body so heavy to go
A pair of feet with pinkish soles
Up in bed never to touch them down

A Saturday morn a day of joy
Whilst souls are out for fun
Then why the restless self up here
Still clings to pillows for warmth
With eyes so bleary with heavy lids

Lazy i am i feel the cold sheet
My back against the softie bed
I close my eyes to wonder once more
And slumber so deep with dreams enfold
