The Rambler

by Cherise   Apr 3, 2007

He sits in the cafe all by himself
Has no faith, no heaven, no hell
He hums along to the sound of his keys
He's the rambler ,that nobody sees

He sits up straight, walks with his head high.
Yea his life's not great, but he's glad he's alive.
Has so many bruises, but they never show,
He's the rambler,that nobody knows.

He walks in the house, sits himself down,
after chillen with bohemians on the other side of town.
His mother disowned him, father never gives him a glance
He's the rambler, who never got a chance.

You sit in the cafe all by yourself
You have no faith ,no heaven ,no hell.
A man sits beside you, a face that you knew,
He's the rambler, he's talking to you.

A unique write that I truly enjoyed. It all flowed flawlessly and the mood you created with your language was beautiful. The descriptions were amazing, I felt as if I was seeing everything witth my own eyes. Well done *5/5*

Wow...I really like this one. It is concise, but very expressive. It reminds me of catching someones eye as you pass them on the street...knowing you have some unspoken connection to them, but you'll never see them again... <sorry, kind of off on my own thought there...>anyway, great poem!

    Nice job on this poem!..

"Your sit in the cafe all by yourself"
    [I think you meant 'you']

Again I liked the rhymes in this poem. Good stuff on this one. It was a weird read, but it's interesting. Reminded me of the song, 'the Gambler' by Kenny Rogers.
