Storm

by XSugarSexSuicideX   Apr 4, 2007

Black sky above my head,
More rain than is the norm,
Wind tearing through the trees,
A deadly, brutal storm.
10:00.
An interesting story
With a happy conclusion,
I know that this feeling
Is not an illusion.
I feel the rain falling
Like the tears in my eyes,
The wind blowing around,
As I scream about lies.
A party is organized,
An invite is sent,
And the whole decision would
Lie with the parents.
Unfortunately, the invite
Had to be turned down,
Just another reason this storm
Brought about a frown.
I see the black sky above my head,
I see more rain than is the norm,
The wind is tearing through the trees,
It's a deadly, brutal storm.
11:00.
Every single word I read,
It's like I have him here,
But every single word I read
Brings back every tear.
How horrible of an experience
To be held hostage from your loved ones,
The pain of being alone takes root,
You lose all ideas of fun.
I lie awake as the storm sets in,
I think about the plans to come,
I wonder if we'll ever see each other,
Or if we'll live through emails and poems.
My head begins to ache and pain,
The tears begin to flow,
In rhythm with the falling rain,
I wish that my love could show.
I feel like I can't say enough
To tell him how I feel,
I wish that I could show him
That I think that this is real.
All along, the black sky is above my head,
More rain falls than is the norm,
The wind tears through the trees with ruthless speed,
I witness a deadly, brutal storm.
12:00.
The night has given way to morning,
Though the sky is as black as a cat,
My tears have all evaporated,
And my heart feels like it's been rolled flat.
I can't concentrate on anything,
Let alone trying to sleep,
Attempting to write a poem
While trying not to make a peep.
Waiting for a friend to arrive,
Only two more days now,
Wondering how we'll fall asleep,
Without getting our parents to shout.
The rain falls against my window,
I wonder if the sun will rise,
In the city where my lover sleeps
And looks into the sky.
They say it might even snow,
Spectacular, I think,
And maybe the ice will creep back,
And the beaches will start to sink?
I think I've had enough of the storm,
I try for sleep again,
As the rain falls, I begin to dream
Of my caring, loving boyfriend.
Black sky above my head,
More rain than is the norm,
Wind tearing through the trees,
A deadly, brutal storm,
But I choose instead to sleep through it,
I'll fight this no more,
I know the sun will rise for me,
Through any sort of storm.
