Boulevard of Broken Dreams

by Cuddles   Apr 4, 2007

It's quiet here along this road.
No fish splash in the nearby stream.
No owl calls out to its mate tonight;
no sound except the crunch of my broken dreams.

I try not to crumble them as I walk,
but there's no place to put my feet,
so I step gingerly as I tread
on hopes that once meant so much to me.

One day I was going to be a lawyer.
I would move to a rhythm and dance,
but these dreams and more lie along this street-
all except my dream of romance.

That dream is reality and quickly thriving,
and I pray it doesn't end up here
along this boulevard of broken dreams
where everything is drenched in my tears.

    Oh sweet sweet cuddles.... this is so sad, you can feel the hurt within. But don't give up, there's a fork in that boulevard, so take that turn and follow it to your dreams....
