Forgiveness

by Daz Mellow   Apr 5, 2007

Forgiveness,
So easy to say,
So hard to do,
That I can just say I forgive you,
And not really mean it.

Forgiveness,
So easy to ask for,
So hard to be given,
They can just say they forgive you,
But do they really want to?

Forgiveness,
Doesn't mean forget.
Doesn't mean you can erase what you regret.
You can try to avoid it,
But it'll catch up with you in the end.

I'm not looking to forgive anyone.
I'm not asking to be forgiven.
Cause I have to forgive myself,
Before I can learn to forgive someone else.

I liked the idea of it, along with the poem.
    I admire the last stanza.
It was something a lot of people can relate to.
    People don't realize they should.
And, I think coming to that realization and completing is quite brave.. Granted it's hard to forgive someone else, let alone yourself.
