That's my poem.
Unfortunately, The site told me it was too short and had to be submitted as a quote.
In lieu of this gross injustice, I am taking a stand on behalf of all short poems (and the poets themselves, regardless of their size). I always liked poems that had titles longer than the poem itself and I believe labelling them as "quotes" is prejudiced and small minded. The stereotyping of short poems as "quotes" expresses a lack of vision on the part of the moderators of this website. It is a short-sightedness which I believe threatens to take us all back to the dark ages.
I can only hope that we will one day accept short poems and allow them to stand beside their larger, more elaborate -and let's face it, often unwieldy- brethren.
Short poems deserve their place in the sun; and for us to grow as a society, we need to ensure that they are treated as equals, without fear of ridicule.
