The Little Boy

by Wallace   Apr 5, 2007

A poor lost soul, stranded on the streets
Tired and exhausted with nothing to eat

How did he get there no-one knows
But of course this couldn't be the life he chose

As the days went by not a word was spoken to him
And the hungrier he got the more he grew thin

Many weeks had passed and the streets turned cold
The poor little boy had no where to go

No family or friends or anyone to look after him
So the weaker he got and the more he grew slim

When he reached to the point he lost all hope
So he ended his misery by hanging on a rope

There his small fragile bones hung in the air
And still to this day no one knew he was there

All the pain and torture he kept within
Now you tell me, what kind of world do we live in?

    Oh holy crap.

    This was AMAZING.

I don't even know what I could possibly say that would even begin to sum up how I feel about this piece...

This was beautifully written, despite being relatively short you managed to pack in so much depth and emotion, and the imagery you portrayed in this was beautifully done, it created very vivid pictures in my mind.

The flow was FLAWLESS throughout this piece, and that ending..oh wow. Filled with such intensity and power that it hits the reader like a slap in the face.

This is just...wow. I love this. This is going into my favourite poems. Definietly.

A beautiful write, with such a deep message behind the written words.

    Amazing work on this.
