Empty Bottle

by RetroRavey   Apr 6, 2007

Killing ourselves a kiss at a time.
Tending our burns
From the fire of love.
Never knowing what pain
Being shot through the heart
With Cupid's tender arrow
Could possibly bring.

This was perfect.
Everything that the heart desired
Was handed to you on a silver platter.
But every glance was poison,
Every word was lies.
We drank way too much that night.
Not one sip more than we could've handled,
But nothing short of the whole damn bottle.

And once it was gone
We couldn't get anymore...
Once it was gone,
It was gone for good.

The fruit from out that garden of Eden,
Was the best and worst of all.
It took away my solemn heart,
But prepared me for the fall.
One kiss was all it took to die.
One sip from out that bottle of wine.
We killed ourselves, one kiss at a time.

And now the bottle is gone.
