The wanderer

by firexdancer   Apr 6, 2007

She wanders on the broken road
tears could be the rain,
her freezing hands trying to hold,
the peices of her heart again.

her feet are weary, yet she walks,
so cold and still on fire,
she's shaking but she stumbles past,
the million wealthy liars.

she used to have someone to help,
when she fell into the dirt,
but now she's left him behind,
afraid that he'd be hurt.

she tried to hide her bloody arms,
as he kissed her lips,
but he saw them much too soon,
he was afraid of what he missed.

she ran away from him that day,
still running in the dark,
he followed her but couldn't find,
her shattered lonely heart.

as he screamed for her soul,
she heard him and she wept,
for he gave up his restless hunt,
the key to her mind he kept.

she knew it was never again,
so she never came back,
and you can tell if you see her,
the girl all dressed in black.

maybe one day she'll find,
another one like this,
but until then she's the wanderer,
a ghost flickers in the mist.
