Sad Truths

by Rattlehead   Apr 6, 2007

Golden sun fades and an eclipse falls upon
Voices grow louder as ears go deaf
Wanting to be heard but not willing to listen
Only our intentions matter never others
Worried only about ourselves
Forsaking friends and alliances
Not standing together we fall
Risking lives only when their something to gain
Standing on the sidelines till we are threatened
What cowards we are
Only defending ourselves and not others
While the sick die and the hungry starve
We put a price on health and food
Raising the cost till we get what we want
Money to save lives and deeds done in exchange for praise
Greed, ha we all succumb to it one way or another
So don't lie to yourself
No matter how much you give and do
God knows when someone does it to get praise
Betraying what we know is right to get the upper hand
Few who are pure are left in the world, how sad
Spending money on bombs we use to kill
Instead of using it to secure peace
Can you put a price on peace?
Hating others because there different
Holy wars fought for the same God
How stupid are we only seeing the differences
And not seeing what we have in common
Humans are blind to what really matters
We take for granted what we have
Until it is all gone
