The Truth about Easter

by Ike Dizzle   Apr 7, 2007

Thank you Jesus Christ
For doing what we would never try
You rounded up all our sins
And to cross you died

While upon that cross
You listened to all the booing
And you simply said
Forgive them Lord; they know not what they are doing

Early Sunday Morning
He arose with everyone s sin accounted for
And the barrier between God and humans
Was no more

Once again thank you, Jesus
Even though I can not repay you in anyway
I guess the only thing I can do
Is celebrate Easter the right way.

Uh-oh look out its CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM! (then I'll get to the greatness of it)

Kay, the last line in the first stanza. Needs another syllable to keep the flow up. Such as.... '...nailed to cross...' or '...upon the cross...'

A few more syllables in the last two lines of the third stanza, or a few less in the first two...

And I'd cut 'Even' out of the last stanza so it reads:

    'Once again thank you, Jesus
Though I can not repay you in anyway
I guess the only thing I can do
Is celebrate Easter the right way.

And yeah, otherwise t'riffic as usual. Beautiful theme, topic, message, explains the whole Easter scenario simply and interestingly!
    Rhyme wasn't cliched. Great job.

In answer to Snugglez, the easter egg this is pagan ritual.
In response to your poem, it's very powerful and tells a very cute story so many people can understand it, you don't use complicated words to get your point across which is great.
    Well done
