Not just a poem

by Jenie   Apr 7, 2007

(**my friend wanted me to write so i could vent. but the more i wrote..the more i got depressed**)

You told me to write
So here I am
You told me not to cry
But I'm doing the best I can

You said I needed to vent
But you didn't want me to cut my wrist
Said, take the pen and paper
Write a poem. Make a list

So like I said
Here I am trying to write
So tore up inside
Too dark to see the light

I am so lost
On a path without a clue
I don't know who to go to
I don't know what to do

I don't want to cut
But I also don't want to cry
So help me find a safe way
To nicely say goodbye

I tried to stay strong
But my will is to fail
I am a broken angel
Bloody wrist, so pale

You told me to write
But it doesn't seem to make this better
This isn't just a poem
Its a suicide letter

I thought this was excellent for a vent. The rhyming flowed well and this, I believe, was a better way to do your venting. I think the poem is so full of emotion it seemed to influence me as i read it. 5/5.
