On the Evening News

Static on the TV
suddenly becomes clear
the woman leans to listen
she wants to hear

"i saw the car flip twice and land on its hood, i saw the firemen try to get the people out, but i guess it was no good"
a witness recalls...

the woman sits without expression
not knowing what is to be
that poor woman
not being able to foresee

"the fire was enormous, i knew that this was bad, i've never seen anything like it"
tears come to the firemans eyes
"god, it's just too sad..."

the woman getting worried
it's getting far too late
picks up the phone beside her
dialing her future fate

"one fatality, no longer Jane Doe, but-"
the old woman drops the phone
she hears the name of her daughter
her heart feels like stone

the TV turns to static
and leaves the woman be
the phone starts ringing
but she knows now
she has foreseen

...
