When an Insomniac Sleeps

by Kendall   Apr 7, 2007

I do not like to sleep
I do not want to dream
I've had enough of manic nightmares

I've tried so hard to run
but the devils orchestra can
always catch up
The violin plays the loudest tune
whispering tears so loud
I cannot block them out
and I feel a connection to the graves here

I've never seen a woods quite like this
dense in fear and hate and death
I've tried so hard to run;
the weight of life just slows me down
and in the end i always die.

I can't recall seeing a death like yours
I touched your blue lips
and everything collapsed into spiders and webs
the sky turned dark and i felt the life drain out of me
and fangs sink deep into my shoulder

A car waits outside
I watch it through my window
It never moves but its closer now
the fear does not come this time,
but the air is thick with death

The car still hasn't moved,
but now it appears crushed
and I'm getting sick but i can't stop
i do not understand
doors open and my own corpse stares
blood drips from my eyes and my face is bruised
I scream so loud i don't feel
and i fall from the window

in the end i always die.

[this is not supposed to be a well written poem. i just wrote dreams down.. real dreams.]
