Perfect Little Girl

by Caroline   Apr 8, 2007

He thinks his perfect little girl is asleep
While she's up there in her room
He doesn't hear his baby weeping
She's growing up much too soon

His perfect bundle of joy
Yelled at him the other day
His heart broken and destroyed
Her cries make his chest decay

He aches as he remembers
The last time he dried her tears
His bright sunshine hasn't let him
In more than 7 years

His gorgeous little child
Was broken by a boy
Dated before she was sixteen
They all used her as their toy

He doesn't realize his baby
Has given up on life
His once beautiful girl
Now relies on a knife

She has no real friends
And wants to run away
Oh, how the father loves her
There's not enough words to explain

He goes up the steps
And knocks on the door
Her face streaming with tears
She stares down at the floor

He looks into his darling's eyes
Held her like she was the world
Because no matter the situation
In the end, she's still his perfect little girl
