Alone at night

by xXallieXx   Apr 8, 2007

She sat alone at night
Awakened by her past.
Fear climbed up her spine
And entered her gentle brain.
She opened her mouth to scream,
Closed it fast, forgetting she wasn't allowed.
So she sat in her bed
listening to what was going on
in the room next door.
Insults, screams, plates crashing against the floor
an everynight scenario for the girl.
A scream for help, a loud silence, cries for mercy.
No this night was different,
It didn't sound the same.
A woman's soul just left Earth...

So now she sits alone at night
Awakened by her present
Fear climbs up her spine
and enters her gentle brain.
She listens to what goes on
in the room next door
Complete silence, not a sound
Now, she can open her mouth
and scream her sorrow
letting go of the fear
she had kept deep inside for too long.
