Their Faces, All Maps

by Weeping Wolf   Apr 8, 2007

Their Faces, All Maps

On a mountain I sit of gold insight
Seeing all, perceiving the deepest
What they cannot find in a mirror
Their beautiful features...if only
They could show in them, what I know.

He lounges thinking, quiet and refined
For a friendship he'd at all costs strive
On his face is a map of the colored Sky
Yet forgiveness is something he'll deny

I'll face tomorrow because of yesterday
I'll remember from before, the mistakes
And travel into every crevice, to be anew
From maps on their faces, I'll make it through.

She comes and she goes, her hope, it flows
How she craves to stay here, her heart, it glows
On her face is a map of the Beautiful Island
But it is so stained from the familiar cries

I'll face tomorrow because of yesterday
I'll remember from before, the mistakes
And travel into every crevice, to be anew
From maps on their faces, I'll make it through.

He wanders in the night, spreading fire
All the envy corrupts his heart's desire
On his pale yet dark face is a map of Hell
He tells me in shame of when his dignity fell

I'll face tomorrow because of yesterday
I'll remember from before, the mistakes
And travel into every crevice, to be anew
From maps on their faces, I'll make it through.

He leaps to the sky, just as if to fly
For holiness he vows to live and die
On his face if a map of Heaven
Seeking God's eyes in salvation

I'll face tomorrow because of yesterday
I'll remember from before, the mistakes
And travel into every crevice, to be anew
From maps on their faces, I'll make it through.

She gazes out at life through innocent eyes
Peacefully protected from most of the evils
On her bright face is a map of Innocence
Let her stay blind to all the worst of things

I'll face tomorrow because of yesterday
I'll remember from before, the mistakes
And travel into every crevice, to be anew
From maps on their faces, I'll make it through.

He shines greatest through faces and crowds
I see him clearly from others, and am proud
On his face is a map of (the Joy in) my Life
For he doesn't run around without sunshine!

I'll face tomorrow because of yesterday
I'll remember from before, the mistakes
And travel into every crevice, to be anew
From maps on their faces, I'll make it through.

And so I study their maps to find my own
Seeing all they cannot, searching for a home
This reality becoming now so clear to me
on my face is a map of Love...oh I won't give up...

*This is might seem a little confusing, but its a view of what I see in others that they can't find or see clearly within thenselves, and finding myself through them. (more specifically- what i discover from the "faces" of my friends)*
