It is bitterly painful when the happiness of love leaves you so empty. On one hand you are greatful that you had the experience and was able to love then on the other you regret opening your heart to someone that can leave you so broken.

You have portrayed such a sadness in this poem and everyone can relate in some way or another. That is the trick to writing.
