Our toes in the Sand

Sweet best friend, I write to you
With a smile on my face and tear in my eye
I sit with sun shining down on the paper
And a single white cloud in the sky

I just started to think today
Of how proud I truly am of you
Of how much you've gone through alone
And came out of it so bright and new

I just wanted to let you know
Even though we both are young
Even though we might make some mistakes
Even though a naughty word may slip from our tongue

God has brought us together
And he forgives us for all our sins
So you and I can get through things just fine
With the strength of us both we can always win

Dear Best friend of whom I love
I just thought that you should know
After high school if life separates us
My spirit and prayers will go wherever you go

When trials bring you down in life
When your pale and can't think straight
I'm here for you and will help you always
I'll always understand and more than likely relate

Best friend since we are still teens
You and I both are prepared
For the challenges in life thats ahead of us
Just hold my hand and don't be scared

Because when we get through it with each others support
We will be the most free and happiest girls alive
We'll witness of what God has done for us
We will show everyone that we can survive

And I promise when the day comes
Where there are no problems in our life's plan
I'll take you to a beach and relax for a while
And we can walk with our toes in the sand

We can listen to the birds above us
And watch how the sun makes the waves glow
Later in life we'll both need a break
And we'll need to feel the sand between our toes
