Screeching tires, screaming breakes

by HollywoodSmile   Apr 9, 2007

My feet scrape across the ground
making that sound that rubber soled sneakers make
turn, i tell myself, turn and run
for the results of what I've done
surely aren't good
what could i have done that is so bad?
i have committed a life threatening task
which is?
I've admitted my true feelings
my trembling hands open the door to the telephone booth
i dial your number, egar to erase my words
"hello," i open my mouth to answer, but quickly lose control
i start again, but then i hear it
screeching tires
screaming brakes
then i see the bright white lights
a truck spins and skids its way to me
closer, closer
closing in on me
the last thing i ever said was "huh"
huh.

I like the way you wrote this. Kind of leaves you in a sort of questioning, wondering feeling.
